Limitations

I would assume it's sex content and only the most extreme forms of violence that would push it past R, I mean there is some dark things out there that just don't need to be seen in certain venues.

There's no doubt that gore plays a role in a good horror movie, but I hope the horror fest doesn't turn into the mentality of the goriest movie wins, becuase without a good story and pacing, it's pointless. It's not really the gore and blood and guts, but how you use that as a tool for your film. Some good horror/scary movies don't have a lot of gore in them at all.

I just love that we allow limitless violence and gore, but watch it with that sexuality, that'd be porn. (sigh)

That's part of whats wrong with americans. Sleeping with, then killing a hooker in a video game is ok, sex scene? no way. it's all backward.
