Lighting Tips - How's & Why's-

So I've always been on the look out for places on the web that talk about the "why's" of cinematography and lighting- but I usually come across the "how's" and not the "why's". As with any art the "Why's" are a matter of taste and preference, but I'm always more interested in the "why's".

So, I decided to start posting my own setups and the results on my blog. If you want to follow along I just posted the first in the series, with more to come:

Great posting, thank you.

One thing I'd like to ask. For future installments could you have bigger images available?

Many thanks, Ryan. You're off to a good start. FYI - where you talk about the purpose of the dutch angle, I think you have a typo:

Instead of "sexual additions", I think you meant "sexual addictions". Going through the links, I came across the upcoming feature American Dream. Excellent content - how can we purchase a copy or see it online in its entirety?

Warm Regards, Michael

LOL!!! Yep you are correct, I'll get that fixed, thanks for the heads up. :)

Thanks. American Dream is still in Production / Post production. We have one more story to follow in the midwest, and another one on the east coast to complete what is needed for the film. The goal is to have it done later this year and then release it in theaters. Distribution has already been lined up, so that is a plus- but it will not be until later this year until you'll be able to see the full film.
