Come on COMO

My man.

Focus. You gotta get the shot in focus. Or were you hand-holding and it's blurring me ?

The lighting is Blah for the most part. No depth, no highlight, no background, no eyelight, no noseshadow

I'm not saying you gotta have all those elements or that they are even fast rules ...

But this looks like just not a real effort at all.

Just my honest .02

Keep trying

I think you're definitely improving, but more work is needed.

I agree that you need an eyelight and a backlight.

Holy, i really suck at lighting. Theres no way i can do all of that, expecially with the two lamps i own!

Focus? my shutter was at 1/24, so maybe i captured this still while i moved a little, and yes I was filming my self, so it's kinda hard to get everything perfect.

Do I HAVE to have a backlight? What if the mood is dark, and i dont want a backlight?

just asking.

If you're going for a "dark" mood, sometimes a really strong black light looks nice. I china ball as a fill to bring up the light level and a strong backlight behind the subject.

I've seen it work well. Depends on what kind of "dark" you're talking about though.

You still scoring my video ;)

Haha that video was great, thanks for sharing. Do i need a 3 point light setup, or can i just use lights around my house for 3 point lighting?

Videos up!!!

Three sources is a bare minimum. Lights around your house may brighten up the scene, but you will not be able to control them, and they probably aren't strong enough. Also, good luck finding a hard light somewhere in your house.

Start reading the lighting forum religiously and pay attention to all of the technical debates about certain lights. Any term you don't understand, give it an Isara search.

Also, watch films and pay attention to how they may have been lit.
