Lighting test with the SGpro

the focus is just the way I wanted it.. I sort of like unfocused footage, don't know why:P

but if you watched the youtube version then it's the compression..

How can I explain the difference between filming darkness and creating darkness?
Maybe take Alien and compare it to the "flashlight on face" shots from BlairWitchProject.
Your´s looked more like the later.
Creating a dark, low lit setting often involves more than one light.
Especially for the limited dynamic range of video, a little ambient fill helps...

hehe, true, and now I only have 2 lights to play with.
Though this is CC'd a lot to make the background look darker. But I totally agree with you.
I need more experience on it but I'm still learning:)

Hm,
you should get some china balls and some high power CFLs, this helps raise the ambient light level and doesn´t cost much...
Experience will come

Lot of work to be done.

Tip #1: BACKLIGHT

A strong backlight on your subject, and a soft fill on the background itself, could make that shot doable. Remember, the purpose is to make 2 dimensional objects appear to be 3 dimensional. That's lighting.

great test. I liked the grain a lot more in this one.

Song is from the butterfly effect no? Whats it called?
