Lighting question: 3200K or 5600K litepanels for talking head interviews???

I'm about to buy aone of those heat free dimmable 1x1 Litepanels and an on camera Minilite litepanel.

But I'm not sure whether to get them in 3200K or 5600K or in spot or flood?

Can anyone advise me?

I'll be essentially using the litepanels for in-door talking-head interviews.

Thanks very much in advance,

- Nicholas

Depends on where you're shooting and what look you're going for.

Here's an idea: When shooting an interview with 5600K daylight, try flooding with your key and adding a diffused 3200K kicker. It will add a very nice warm glow to the one side of the subject. Adds color, definition and further separation. White balance BEFORE you add the 3200K light.

Find some balance cards (or colored cardboard). Some white balancing options to help you achieve certain looks:

5600K = outdoors (sunlight)

1.Dark Blue = Tints the picture brownish red.

2. Powder/Light Blue = Deeper greens.

3. Orange = Blue Tint.

4. Deep Red = Deeper Greens.

5. Dark Green = Desaturated/washed out colors.

6. LightPpurple = Light Green.

7. Pink = Deep Green.

8. Lime Green = Desaturated/washed out.

3200k = Indoors (tungsten
)

1. Orange = Deep Blue.

2. Deep Red = Green.

3. Lime Green = Warmer skin tones.

4. Dark brown = Light blue.

5. Light purple = Light green.

6. Dark green = Warmer skin tones.

7. Dark purple = Deep Green.

8. Light Blue/Powder Blue = Skin tones not warm.

9. Dark Blue = Warm skin tones.

Ditto on DC's comment on the Zylight. I reviewed it in brief for a column and love it. Short throw, of course, as most LED's are, but with that 5600/3200 switch, it is a snap to use in any situation.
