lighting package

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the difference between a one ton lighting package and a one ton grip package is? Also I was wondering what would be a one ton, two ton or three ton lighting package.

Grip and electric are two different departments that are commonly grouped together on low budget shoots. Electric (Lighting) is, as the name suggests, electrical lighting and the things that attach to the lights. Grip is reflected lighting and all the stuff that goes in front of but does not attach to the lights, plus dolly, crane, scaffolding.

As the tonnage goes up so does the amount of gear in a package, there is no real set list that all 1, 2, or 3 ton packages have to have, it is more of a guideline to the size of truck needed to transport all of the equipment. Just look the detailed list of what the rental house has in their package to know what you are getting.

Okay, so could a one ton package be carried, in say like a PT cruiser or a Jeep? Sorry, I'm just trying to classify what I own so I can market myself a bit better.

i think you should stick to what the context is saying, 1ton load. a jeep or pt cruiser is more like 1/8 of a ton payload. not even sure if you could even fit lightings in there.
