Lightest Tripod leg for the Bogen 503 head ?

LuckyStudio 13

The Tapeless One
Was filming in the woods last weekend and yesterday and i am seriously tired of lugging my 8 lbs 351mvb2 tripod leg.

What is the lightest tripod that still can decently support 503 with the 100b on it ?

thanks

I got that same kit...if I remember right from another thread, getting the carbon fiber legs makes it a few ounces lighter, but costs $500+ extra. Get an assistant workhorse; even if you have to pay him, it will be a better deal than the carbon fiber.

i have some Gitzo carbon fiber legs for my 503 that weigh like 2.3 lbs or something sick like that....no leveling ball tho but you can get an adapter if you need it plus they do have a center column....

Do you remember which specific model is it , how much it cost and if it can hold the 100b firmly?

I do a lot of outdoor backcountry stuff, and would like to lug around my 100b :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

i think its the 1157 legs - i'm up at school now so i'll double check when i get home

i do lots of bc stuff too, and let me tell ya - there has got to be a more compact head than the 503 that will do the job...my sticks are so light i just get pissed the head is so clunky....
