Light affordable teleprompter?

Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a teleprompter solution that I can use on location that isn't super heavy and super expensive... Thanks.

Are you guys using the ipad alone or with a beamsplitter? What is your setup like? I'm looking for a solution for talent to look directly at camera btw...

I just bought the small version of this one a few days ago. I like it. Talent liked it. I have a couple of issues with the software that comes with it however.

I converted my old beamsplitter prompter. It was a smaller unit and works fine with the iPad.
I use my iPhone for prompter scroll.

Ditto on the iPad. Just used one for a corp client.
Mounted on a stand just under the lens.
As long as you read from the top line of the scroll, the eye line is great!
Dv prompter app is free.

great thread

Can someone suggest a DIY to mount ipad to the camera?
We got every individual item of the prompter except mounting. (glass, ipad, software)
just don't want to shell out for something we already own in the first place.

maybe somebody has done already,
can't find it thou
thanks

You too should trial PromptDog

Thanks for the tip. I took a look at it. Nice features. I'll try out the trial.

My biggest gripe with the prompter people software is after you create shortcut keys to different chapters in the text, you better not decide to change font size because it loses the line location of your shortcuts. Maybe there is a way around this, but I haven't found it. Also with a lot of text it is slow to load between the editor and the prompt screen.

how come this is in AF101 section? seems like moderators don't moderate the forums anymore... people asking advice on microphones and talking specific camera on the same forum, it's like one microphone suits some camera better, than the other... let's keep it clean.

Sorry, Tomas. I was simply reaching out for advice from my fellow af100 users. If I was using an hvx still, I may have posted in that forum. Thanks to all that have chimed in so far, I appreciate it. And for what it's worth, I think the moderators are doing just fine keeping negativity and the likes at bay...
