Life's like that.

Any stupid embarassing short little moments in your life that you'de like to share?

I have tons of them but I'd rather listen to yours.

You could always start with "A friend of mine once..."

In 6th grade the three elementary schools in my area fused into one middle school, and I was determined to start a new life as a popular kid. In the first week we did fitness testing in gym class, and that morning I had a bad stomach ache. I had to do as many sit ups as I could in under a minute with my class. In that minute I must have passed gas 25 times.

I took my car in to get serviced once. It was covered under warranty so they offered me a rental car. I was told to wait outside for it. A nice clean car pulled up, a service guy called me over and handed me the keys. I drove to work, drove home, and the next day drove back to the dealer to pick up my car. The service woman asked "What happened yesterday? You took off." She looks over and sees the car I just pulled up in and goes "OH MY GOD! That's the car! We reported it stolen!". She failed to explain that I was supposed to wait for a van that was taking me to a rental car place, not the rental car itself. I had accidentally taken someone else's car that had just been serviced. I was driving in a stolen car...for 24 hours...in Los Angeles. Needless to say, as a nappy headed, brown skinned man, if the cops had stopped me, the resulting scene would not have been pretty.

I'm standing at a bus stop next to an intersection.
A lady in a car stops for the red light.
She looks over at me to her right, leans over to the passenger side and locks her door.

Whoa, that is crazy. Would be a great opening for a movie too.

Fixing a TV in tech school. I slipped with the probe and shorted out a 5 or 10 watt ceramic resistor right up again the cone.
It caught fire (the speaker). I'm blowing like hell trying to put it out as smoke is wafting above my work bench.

After a few minutes pause, the teacher comes over and asks "What happened?
Knowing I can't BS him I said, "I don't know, I was just tuning the coil and it caught fire."
He sais" that shouldn't cause that. "

I never lied to him again.

Not embarrasing for me so much...but I'm 16 working my first training shift at a fast foot joint. Girlfriend comes in, waves at me back in the kitchen. Dude training me says "Is that Marie *@#$()? I hate that *****!". I just cooly reply that it's my girlfriend, and he turns red. He was right though.

Maybe it is because I am so hyper-passionate in 99 other areas of emotion; but I have always had a recessive 'shame/humiliation' gene. Any redness would be more booze than blush.

Sorry, Gord. I thought long and hard on this, but hit a blank.

Sure, I have some retroactive embarrassing memories in hindsight (involving girly-ups mix-girl; shenan'aghans or unscripted nudity)...but those may be more retroactive guilt related.

Fail. But I understand. Still fail. We shall try again next year. Succes is not an option.

grade 3, I triggered the fire extinguisher in a room full of 30 classmates, and be the first one to escape the room and locked the only exit door.

I was so scared. seeing through the glass window of the room, it was all white smoke.

I didnt get kicked out from the school, luckly lol

I was at a bachelor party. I found a fire extinguisher too. I sprayed a guest. Ooops, it was a liquid thingy. Got him in the eyes. Foook. Damn near blinded him but lucky for me he was okay except for a bit of hurt for a few hours. (We're still friends. Rotten thing to do on my part. But we were young.)
However, the extinguisher fluid on the floor peeled up all of the varnish in the hall's floor. So, we had to pay for damages.
Sheeesh. Just trying to have fun.

Oh, I was in a play in grade 7. I "really" wanted to play Jesus in the play. There was one part part where someone touches me in the head and I fall over.

Having my buddies in the audience, I thought I'd play it up to get a laugh.
So when I was touched on the head, I fell over backwards with a straight back. It was comical.

The buddies laughed in the audience and afterward I was taken aside and scolded by a teacher.
Thus was pretty much the beginning and end of my acting career.

Used to be a computer programming major. While writing a program, something went awry and I ended up creating some sort of primitive virus instead. Of course I didn't know this, so when I hit "compile" it messed up my computer. I thought my computer just couldn't handle it, so I took it to the computer lab to work on. It shut down that computer upon "compile" as well. Turns out those computers weren't protected in any way (only for CSCI majors), and it messed up other computers as well. It shut down the computer lab for a week. I never said anything.

Another time I loosened my trucks on my skateboard and changed my bearings to ABEC 9 from ABEC 3. Hit a hill I'd never seen before (a NC hill, not an OK hill), and flew off the board before reaching the bottom. Spent 7 hours in the hospital, got horrible road rash and lost a nipple in the process. Turns out, much like starfish legs, nipples grow back.

"Huh. This rental car has Alice in Chains in the CD player. Weird."

I totally flubbed a high note at the end of a trumpet solo. The high school jazz band I was in and I were playing at...my former elementary school.
