OK, I think I have finally decided on a tripod. I think that this one I will be happy with.

I am hoping to buy one for $450 (CAD/USD) shipped to Can.
 
I just bought one from B&H for $640 and they have just dropped it to $600! They dropped the bonus directors' finder from the package though which is worth $370 on its own though so I guess it's not so bad. Hope you find a cheap one!
 
I got my 38 a couple of days ago. I like it, it's very solid with the exception of the locking knobs on the sticks which could be a little stronger. I'm rocking an HV40 on it at the moment which is far too light, you definitely need to lock it off if you want to take your hand off it at anything other than horizontal! It should work better with the RED Scarlet when that eventually ships. Good luck!
