It seems the 1333x cards (gold label) I've been using in my FS7 have been discontinued and replaced by the 1400x (silver label) mentioned above. Is this correct? Does anyone have experience with these cards? Just curious before I buy several.

I met with a Lexar rep at a show who also told me they were incompatible. And, of course, she blamed Sony

I'd stay with Sony XQD cards. Just bought another pair of 128GB cards used, for half the price, so look for used cards if possible. They probably wont have been used much if found used.

In the FS7 Facebook group a user has these cards and they work perfectly. Zero issues. He tested all the way up to 4K60P XAVC-I. I wouldn't hesitate purchasing one.

Do you know which reader he used for downloading? Appears they'd require Sony's G reader, or Lexar's new version.

Are you referring to the previous 1333x version OR the new 1400x cards? I have the 1333x and they have worked flawlessly on all record modes for me.

Previews version of Lexar cards also needed the MRE-80 reader.

I think the Lexar cards are not certified due to sales and liability reasons.
Has the previous Lexar card version been certified by Sony?

Here's that post. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153723966567328&set=gm.1073036722716143&type=3 1400X was stated to work in the newest reader from Sony. I'd imagine backward compatible with the other sony reader.

Don't be so sure without testing. I use Sony G series XQD cards w/Sony SxS adapters in my F55 and on two different shoots with one of my friends who has an F5, we've had trouble dumping with his Sony SxS reader. It would take forever and then throw an error near the end, a lot of times. I'd pull out my G series XQD reader, put the XQD card in and it would be done in a few mins with no problems.

Are the 128GB Lexar 2933x cards compatible w/the FS7?

More expensive than the 1333x but still a good savings v the Sonys.

Nope. I just tried this week (latest firmware installed-- I believe v2.1), and the camera gives me a message saying that the card must be formatted. When you try to format it, you get a promising looking progress bar, but then an error message saying that it's unable to format. So annoying!

I didn't try it in my Sony G reader, nor did I try any Lexar sizes other than 128gb.

That is aggravating but thanks for the scoop.

So only hope for less expensive cards right now is the 1333x, which seem to be discontinued?

1333X and 1400X are fine. I haven't heard reports on the 2933X till M Harvey post. Hopefully Sony allows compatibility with the 2933X in the next update.

I have two of the Gold label cards and use them regularly. Not sure about silver labels and not sure how one can test them to see without committing, as returning them after the pack has been opened could be problematic.

I just bought two Lexar 1400x cards from Adorama. They'll arrive next week and I'll report back on compatibility.
