Letus35 color issue

Hi everyone. I have a slight qualm about a lot of the Letus35 footage I've seen, and I'm curious whether or not I'm just seeing things or if other people have caught it as well.

Has anyone else noticed a desaturated look to a lot of Letus35 stuff? Outside, colors don't pop, and inside things have a faded bluish tint. It doesn't seem to bring out really vibrant colors like DV usually has a tendency to do normally. I wrote to Quyen asking him about this and a few other things, and he responded that camera settings are always most important for the color--does anyone out there have some experience with the Letus that they could share? I would love to be proven wrong, so if anyone has any footage that shows the Letus getting really really saturated colors I would be interested to see it.

The faded look can be great, but it'd be nice to know that it's not a corner you're forced to back into. Any help about further understanding the relationship between color and 35mm adapters would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading!

I think alot of people make the mistake of using the preset white balance when using 35mm adapters. Becasue you are using another lens, which will inevitably have a tint to it, this preset white balance will not work properly. When shooting with adapters, it is very important to always manually white balance. Other than that, I havn't noticed any color issues with it, you do indeed need to adjust some settings to get a perfect match, but that can all be done in camera with little problem.

Great to know, thanks for the info--I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't be an "absolutely must cc in post" kind of situation.

Also, duly noted about the thread posting. Thanks again!
