That would be logical, but on the Letus Direct pages, the Elite ring is described as "an upgrade to existing Extreme users", which I understand you don't remove anything from the LEX, - just attach the ring.

So, would it have some optics to change the film plane completely or what ?!!

Any more details on this fabled B4 relay for the Extreme that Zacuto mentioned? I'd love to be able to shave a little off my shoot budgets by using my existing LEX on our Varicam rather than hiring a Pro35 every time. Anyone have any ideas how much different the results would be? Will they be comparable or will i need to buy an Ultimate to be close to what i get with the Pro35?

The Elite and the LEX upgrade part available from Zacuto are different. You will replace the whole front tube on the LEX and as you see it is much shorter than the LEX original front tube, if that makes any sense. Just compare the elite the upgrade part and the original LEX - at least it seems so to me.

It is an upgrade, yes, and that upgrade requires replacing part of the LEX to achieve better performance.
