OK heres my short one hour experience, I was able to get some very sharp focus using a 19" monitor (widescreen LCD screen- not field monitor).

The Adapter arrived in good order working etc, fairly easy to figure out the required settings. I guess my only one complaint is the inside of the adapter itself is rather dirty, bits of dust etc that are showing up in the footage. A clean will fix this Id imagine... but there goes one hour of my life (thats when I actually work out how to clean it - which I wont do until Im advised how to).

ineresting. i was going to order the Lflip sometime today or tomorrow. What rod system are you using, if any? how heavy is it?

Bit busy today but when I get back Im going to measure it all up and see what rod system will work I imagine the cavision will be sufficient. The overall weight of the adapter isnt a lot, so you can operate it without rods, though i just prefer the security.

I placed a cokin rotating filter stage on the end of a 50 mm lens and there was no problem, had a cokin circular polariser in it. I have here a small hood that attaches to the filter stage that I will make a small sunshade for, so effectively it will operate as mattebox, my rotation would need to be in forths but I dont forsee a problem with that.

Yeah, I'd go with the rods for support also. the lens alone is heaavy! (those old metal lenses might be heavier than the letus itself!) seems like you're a happy camper. how bad is the light loss?

Sorry Michael most of what I have done so far is messing around, at a guess I would say about one stop. But not too bad, very workable.

Can you post some pics of your setup? I'm dying to see what the darn thing looks like mounted. Plus the one pic on Quyen's site is pretty bad.

Sorry guys I will do it soon, I am learning to use a steadicam merlin also, plus finishing a script, doing a music video storyboard (rough) location scouting for the vid... on top of that suckered into shooting a friends wedding. Tomorrow night I will.. see how tired my arm gets with the merlin tonight maybe.
