Incase I get the DVX100 I wanted to see a how letterboxing in post looked compared to in camera. Since I sold my XL1 all I have is a sony so I used it.
I took some video. Part normal. then part letterboxed. The letterboxed looks squeezed and skinny. So then I took the video and put it in Final cut express. I letterboxed it all there. I think 1:85. The normal video looked good. Not squeezed. The other video that was letterboxed in camera still looked sqeezed.
I've heard the DVX100 is alot better in squeeze mode, but I'm thinking if you do it in post you have both, 4:3 and letterbox.
