Let's talk glass: Lenses for the AF100!

I have been using most of my vintage Minolta MC and MD lenses (21mm f:2.8, 24mm f:2.8, 50mm f:1.4, 58mm f:1.4, 85mm f:2, 135mm f:2.8, 200mm f:4) on the AF100 and also my Zeiss Planar 50mm f:1.4 (Yashica/Contax mount)… They are all sharp as hell ;-)

The first 2 lenses I purchased are the Olympus 14-54 2.8-3.5, and the Sigma 50-150 2.8 with the adaptamax nikon plus adaptor.

I finally have a nice group of 3 I will carry with me for uncontrolled environments. The best part is—the most expensive one was $150 (Tokina 17mm).

Vivitar S1 28-90mm 2.8 (varifocal telephoto)
Vivitar S1 70-210mm 2.8 (parfocal zoom)
Tokina 17mm 3.5 (wide)

and thanks to editman—I've also got a terrific Scene File setting that is working for a multitude of environments as well.

Sigma & focus rotation

Sigma & focus rotation

I have the Novoflex, the tokina 11-16 f2.8, the sigma 17-50f2.8 all nikon mount, and am going to be purchasing an older f mount 105mm nikon prime, that f3.5 8mm fisheye russian made off amazon, and hopefully some other primes. I also have the pancake 20mm lumix, but my favorite lens is the sigma nikon mount.

Scott, How easy is it to manually focus on that Sigma? I had an 18-50 Sigma in Canon mount and found it a little bit frustrating. The focus rotation from close to infinity was less than a quarter turn on the barrel, more like one-sixth, and on top of that it seemed a bit "sticky." The combination meant that making little focal adjustments was nearly impossible (too close, too far, too close, too far) even with a follow focus. It may have been a bad copy as faras stickiness goes, but I'm wondering if the 17-50 has at least a little more travel on the barrel?

Actually, this question is for anyone : Do you know of any medium focal-length stills zoom (16-50 to 28-80 range), f/2.8 or faster, in which the focus ring travels more than 90 degrees from close to infinity? I believe the f2.0 Olys do, but I'm not certain.

as an ex fashion fotog, i have a shelf of sickly fast glass primes.. my fave is the nikkor 50mm 1.2 which becomes a 116.. not sure what to do with my 200 f2-- its a monster and i dont have a need for such length let alone the weight of the beast.. my leica m 35mm has not been too useful, but my canon 35mm 1.2 is sweet.. And im loving the voit nok 25mm .95.. great fov and sweet shallow dof if you want it.. and when you you need the wide, the lumix 14mm 2.5 has come in handy.. especially when walking backwards and keeping subjects waist high in frame...im gonna post some samples shortly
