FS7: Lenses, a few years ago I sold my 35mm prime lenses, buy them back or not???

And why do they need wifi and GPS eh? It's so they know where you are ALL THE TIME.

Right I'm off to make a tin foil hat.

I think the world is a better place with people like yourself having access to great tools and bending them to your will.

'Professional' is a state of mind, not a job spec. You have to control the tools and not the other way around. Letting the machines choose what stays in focus is what leads to Skynet and the robo apocalypse.

See Doug, THIS is what happens the one time I agree with you!

I get paid to make pretty pictures but I'm constantly amazed that people keep paying me to do so that's why I prefer the term chancer than professional. One day I'm going to be found out.

I've been developing realtime generative graphics for interactive installations for sometime and have been working with all manner of sensors to detect motion i.e. computer vision and it strikes me that the camera manufacturers are missing a trick. I'm not talking about fire and forget autofocus but an intelligent hardware focus puller. I would've thought depth masking, optical flow and pattern tracking could all be used to track an object through a scene and reject spurious motion while being guided by the user's input on the focus ring.

I'll be back...

Or Redrock Halo, which also makes you feel all sci fi
