Lense Help

I am planning on getting a GH1 once it becomes available. I've never used a 35mm adapter or DSLR before, but I thought in the mean time, I would buy some necessary lenses. I plan on shooting a feature.

Any help would be great.
 
You're not giving us much info on what you intend to shoot, so it's not easy to advise on lens choices. I'll assume you want good DOF as you mention a 35mm adapter, so you'll be looking for fast primes. At this point, unless you already have some lenses, the Canon FD lenses seem to be one of the least expensive, although with demand, they are going to start costing more.

The other issue is the fact that the GH1 crops your FOV by 50% so you need to go to a lens that is 50% smaller than the needed focal length. For example, to get the effect that a 28mm lens gives you at 35mm FF, you need to choose a 14mm lens on the GH1.

Once you figure that into the equation, you should be able to come up with a list of lenses that will work for your needs. Then just source them and the appropriate adapters.
