Lens zoom markings

[Blade Borge]

So are the numbers on the lens significant or are they just random? I'd like to know their 16/35mm camera equivlances, anybody know how to translate?

[booggerg2]

the widest FOV on the HMC is 28mm (35 equiv)

[dcloud]

heres the formula i devised

lens number / .139 = 35mm focal length

e.g.
3.9 / .139 = 28mm

Check out the specs of the HMC150, the 35mm equivalent is written: 28-368mm
