Lens with IS for 3 axis gimbal

I need your advice for lens. I need one lens with IS for working with 3 axis gimbal. I got the metabone speed booster and adapter. I dont know if canon IS and AF work on it... Maybe it better to go in sony E-mount lens just for gimbal shot? For now i look for 16-70 OSS Sony Zeiss. Thanks
 
forgive me, but isn't the whole point of the gimbal to stabilize the shot? Do you really need an IS lens? Most of the 3axis gimbal videos I've seen that list the equipment used are running non-IS lenses.
 
Which gimbal are you using? We mostly use an old nikon ais 24mm 2.8 / speedbooster with movi m10 because it's one of the few lenses we have that allow the fs700 to balance. Now our problem is trying to connect the Odyssey 7q. The fs700's sdi interferes with the gimbal. I'd love to hear any ideas on how to get the 7q working on it as I really can't stand shooting internal on the fs700 anymore.

MAN! Do I know your pain haha. We made custom weights for the FS-700 to use it with the Movi M10. We had to weight down the back of the camera 3lbs extra because of the center of gravity being so far forward and the setup so long.

You will hate this but truly and fully I'd get the M15. The headaches it will save add up so so so so much. You can get a thin SDI cable on board and use the 7Q then. Other than that there really aren't reccomendations I can give. Those arms on the M10's cradle are just too short unfortunately.
 
My favorite lens for gimbal work is the 10-18 Sony E. It has OSS if you need it. It's nice cause you can zoom in and out without affecting the balance.
 
I don't have experience with a 3xG but I can confirm the positive feedback about the SEL 10-18. It's light, sharp and has astonishingly low distortion. I replaced my Tokina 11-16 with this lens. It weighs maximum a third compared to metabones plus Tokina 11-16, it has IS and AF works pretty well also.

Thanks for the advice guys!!! I finally bought the 10-18 and it working great on my defy g5! I order the convergent design sdi cable realy slim and don't interfere with the gimbal. At the left Convergent design cable and at the right Canare cable.
