Lens Support Recommendations

The shape is a nice support but I would personally be concerned supporting a 10-pound or so lens on 15mm LW rods with just a resting bracket. BTW, I have the Shape handles and am very impressed with everything they make. I just question whether this particular product is the right one for the job.

I don't have any lenses that weigh 10 pounds, but it supports my 300mm T2.9 Red Pro Prime just fine.
It can be screwed in but I don't use it that way because I have to be able to change lenses very fast. I just use it to support the lens from underneath and it works the same as if I'd screwed it in. The lens isn't going anywhere.

You might check with Visual Products, I believe they make a clamping support for that lens.
I sure wouldn't use it with just a rest on support.

Thanks for the responses. I'm looking through all of the options.

I looked through their site, but couldn't find it.

I'm not sure if you are referring to my 300mm T2.9, but I assure you the Shape support is rock solid and I've been using that combo all the time for more than 6 months.
Even if you gave me a different support for free I wouldn't use it or need it.

As for getting what you pay for, that is true. For $87 I got a product that solved my problem perfectly.

^^^ No my suggestion was for the original poster who was looking for support for his zoom, not you who has stated you already have a support option. ^^^^
