GH4 Lens not found Error with Leitax adapter

Hey people,

I have a Zeiss ZF lens that is cinevized via Duclos with a permanent Canon Leitax mount which I am using on my Metabones Speed Booster on my GH4. Unfortunately the way that the adapter seems to be built it makes contact with the circuits on the smart adapter so the camera gives me this error even though I have the option to shoot without lens turned on. I have other nikon lenses that have non-permanent adapters and they work fine (i assume because they aren't hitting those electrical contacts in the adapter). Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this? i'd rather not physically alter the adapter in terms of cutting it but perhaps there is some kind of non-conductive treatment I could try?

let me know if you have any ideas.

thanks!

thats a non-permanent solution that requires change dependent on each lens used, I don't think I can put anything like tape on the adapter itself as it would affect the seating but is there any kind of spray or non-conductive paint or something that would work?

Not sure what you want precisely, but I would not use any spray or anything that would make it hard to undo in the future. First idea is to get a Metabones that has no electrical contacts. Second is the tape idea; cut the tape for each contact so it just covers each contact individually to affect the fit the least.

sorry i mean applying spray/coating/tape on the lens adapter (on the back of the lens) not the Metabones adapter.
