Lens Macro

I've been playing with the macro function a lot lately and was thinking about using it in an upcoming shoot to really pull some backgrounds out of focus. Although, I have found it is difficult to achieve a sharp focus since the manual focus ring is pretty much unusable in macro. Anyway...wanted to get some feedback. Thanks gang.

When in macro mode you can use the zoom to focus to a certain extent. This works due to the fact that the back focus change which occurs when you use the macro has a lesser effect the greater the focal length.
