Lens IF question?

Thought I'd get in quick with the silliest question of the year so far....

Do you think it could harm the F3 in any way to mount DSLR lens adaptors to the FZ mount while forgetting to switch the [Camera Set - Lens IF] menu to "Off"? I ask because it's something I keep forgetting to do, and I've noticed you're effectively placing a flat piece of metal across all the lens contacts, some of which now take power!
 
Would have no adverse effect.
If so, the MTF/Nikon would have fried a lot of cameras, it's all metal touching pins. Lens info on, will just give you a message of, no communication lens.
 
Thank you - I suspected as much but just wasn't sure, especially as firmware 1.3 now delivers power to the sony zoom through this port.
