This may be a dumb question. I've used many video camera's in my day from 3/4 inch and beta to Betacam and digibeta. Then came the DVX100 and HVX200. All of these camera's always had a square or 16x9 shaped lens hood.
Now with the AF100 and the use of SLR and DSLR lens we now have the circular lens hoods that come with those type lens. When not using my matte box I still prefer the rectangular lens hoods, maybe it is just an aesthetics thing.
Does a round or square lens hood make a difference?
Can you get a 16x9 lens hood that will fit something like the Olympus 14-35 zoom? A lens hood seems to also make more sense on a zoom lens as the matte box is harder to use with the movement needed for the zoom.
Where can I get a hood for a 77mm lens like that?
Also are most people using UV filters on their lens just for protection? I always did on my DSLR so I suppose I should here to right?
