Lens for documentary

I really love mine. I use it a ton, here's a recent example of it

A lot of this was shot wide open, or close to it. Some parts are stopped down, but this lens is perfect for my needs.

I have a question that may be stupid but its still better that I ask it. How much does the Tokina ATX Pro 28-70 2.6-2.8 weighs? Do I need a lens support? What about if I am going handheld? It does look solid and heavy.

It has a nice, solid build to it. Not sure exactly how much it weights but certainly not heavy enough to require support.

Yeah, it's definitely a big lens, but no support is needed.
