Lens Firmware upgrade for most Sony FE lenses

I don't know, but I'm sad these are the only types of updates Sony appears to be pushing. Unlike the gh4 and nx1 that get actual new features.

You are comparing CAMERA firmware updates to lens firmware updates?

Really?

Its a legit question, does Sony actually care about its existing customers and improving its camera bodies? Since the introduction of the A7 line the answer is a resounding no. The engineering focus appears to be on the developement of new bodies. The only way to get any improvements with a Sony is to buy the updated model. That may work with a blu-ray player, but with a camera? Not so much. It's still frustrating that I can't use the shutter - or any other damn button - to trigger recording since the rec button is so poorly placed, tiny and a PITA to trigger.

Sony has done nothing outside of improving startup times in the A7 cameras. The A7s was introduced almost a year ago and released 9 months ago, issues are well documented and Sony has done nothing to improve them. They're completely ignoring customer feedback. The NX1 has only been out a few months and has numerous features added through two significant firmware updates with the promise of more. Samsung has moved to address functionality issues and has improved imaging capabilities. That commitment, plus stellar IQ pushed me to buy a NX1. If the NX1 was another A7 body, I would have passed.

i don't think Sony is ever going to make any improvements to the A7s until the 5-axis A7sII with the new chassis is released - probably Ina few months. Too bad, it's so close to being a great camera instead of a small camera with a lot of warts that can produce a nice image.

Agree, same goes for the A6000. We've asked for the xavc-s codec since other models in that price range (or even cheaper) have it, but Sony just ignored.
The only thing at this point I'm not so sure about anymore, is their focus on new bodies as it seems new cameras release is slowing down proceeding now at a slower pace.
If that turns out to be the real plan, then will be interesting to see how Sony will keep up: new cameras were, marketing wise, at least interesting because it was keeping the news fresh and was attracting new customers. If they'll release less camera and they won't give significant firmware updates then what? Perhaps fewer cameras but this time with next to none quirks? (maybe next A7s will rocks under every aspect...)

Never buy a camera for what it could be, buy a camera for what it is. Otherwise you'll spend time complaining on forums about it and not out there shooting!

problem is that in this forum, there always couple guys that will always complaining on everything. On top of it, they don't even own that particular item that they are complaining about.

There's people who does that? If so I'm wondering why, it doesn't make any sense...

Edit: Hm... unless they don't know what they're buying.

Does this link work for someone? When I try it neither my A7r nor my A7s are recognized via the USB connection. But I dont know if I am using the original Sony USB cable. I dont know how to recognize it.

:-) yes thats already clear. But can the reason be, that this update needs a Sony USB Cabls??
