Lens concern

Noticed a kind of grinding sound/feel when rotating the focus ring last night while shooting. Almost sounds/feels like grit or sand in the gears. Did a shoot a couple of weeks ago outside in the wind. And I do live in the desert Southwest so maybe that's the case??? Got a weekend full of shooting coming up and am concerned about additional damage happening.

Yep, that's the case, and it's not good. Write to Spec-Comm and ask them about it; they're an authorized repair facility and can probably advise you as to whether you need a repair and what it may entail.

Wind+desert = dust in the focus mechanism, and a lot more dropouts. You should put a bag around the camera when shooting in the desert when wind is an issue.
