Lens cleaner

Hey, I need a decent lens cleaner that's not too expensive but will get the job done.
Your opinions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I've always used regular camera lens cleaner -- though I never take the UV filter off my camera, so I only wind up cleaning off the filter and rarely ever have to bother with the actual lens.

Alright. Thanks a lot. Do u recommend a certain brand? I just have a few smudges on the lens and I wanted to make sure I wouldn't damage it with regular lense cleaner

normal lense cleaner u find at any camera store will do fine. make sure u sue a micro fibre cloth.

the kit i have came with microfibre cloth, lens tissue (whihc i dont use), blower, brush.

Use the blower first to remove excess dust
then lightly use ur brush
then apply lens cleaner to the microfibre cloth and not the lens
Wipe lens gently with cloth.

u really shud get a UV filter. pretty cheap, keeps ur lens clean and protected.

Use Pancro and some good lens tissue. Every other lens cleaner leaves a lot of streaks. Dont skimp on lens cleaner, you'll be cleaning the lens again and again otherwise. Its what professionals use.

Your opinions have been awesome! Some one mentioned a UV filter. Where can I get a cheap but protective one?

go on b and h and type in the search function 72mm UV filter. Get hoya or B+W brands..those are decent.

I only own and use a lens tissue. Is that bad? I have noticed small but noticeable streaks on the sides in circular patterns. I have a Tiffen UV Clear filter on my camera but I take it off occasionally because I have a Century Optics Fisheye and it is bayonet attachment. How long will the lens fluid last? I shoot like 3-5 times a week.

well i hav a small bottle (about 3.5 inches long)of lens fluid that sprays and i've had it for some time now. I dont need to spray alot on the microfibre cloth. I guess it depends on how often u hav to clean ur lens. I dont need to use it everytime i clean it cuz sometimes i just need the blowerand brush. U should try and get a blower cuz if u clean the lens and dust is still on it u run the risk of scratching the lens when ur wiping it. (or UV filter in my case)

Lens (Or MC Filters) Cleaning Method/Materials

Lens (Or MC Filters) Cleaning Method/Materials

If I have to...then I use following...and note that I've bought a lot of products...trying to get best result...someone recommended this to me and results are outstanding.
1. Blow all dust off lens (or MC filter)
2. Brush gently to remove any remaining dust etc. - I use Kinetronics Anti-Static Whisk
3. Apply a drop of Formula MC cleaner (Peca Products) to a PEC PAD non-abrasive wipe - and GENTLY apply in circular motion to the lens.
4. Remove any excess cleaner with another PEC wipe...wait until cleaner dries.
5. Buff VERY GENTLY in circular motion with a Kinetronics Anti-Static Cloth (orange with stripes) until all residue from cleaner is removed...this may take several passes
Note that this is the only proceedure that I have found to completely clean MC filters.
