hello

has anyone got a set up thats
GH1/2 (or any m4/3 camera)
with a lens adapter allowing a canon lens thats Feild of Veiw is less that 28mm?
if so...does it work?

I have 2 lenses that are below 28mm and neither of them allow me to focus on anything?

Anyone got a simular set that works?

Hi Jordan,

What exactly do you mean by "neither of them allow me to focus on anything"? Maybe there is something wrong with your adapter?
I use a Canon FD 24mm f/2.8, it's a good lens but slow for a 48mm equiv. I got my adapter from Ciecio7 on eBay.

Hello

Cheers for the reply, I have in all honesty got the cheapest P.O.S adapter money could buy, a new one is coming tomorrow actually.

But basically both the lenses that dip below 24mm are zoom lenses and dont focus at all when they are below the 24-28 mm thresh hold.

I have thought that maybe the adapter is not to good, but it does work with my 50mm lens just fine.

I guess there are 2 difference between the lenses, the 50mm is a prime, and the rest are zooms, the other is the focal length.

I assume yours is a prime to.. so if that works fine, then i think theres something weird and zoom lenses when used on a m43 camera...

unfortuneatly it doesnt seem very common for M43 owners to have a zoom lens that goes below 28mm...

anythoughts?

PS my adapter is a kiwi photo thing, the one coming tomorrow is the kipon one with the iris

Dude, you have to be more clear. Are you talking about an EF lens? What lens is it exactly? Do you know if this lens does work on another camera? If your 50mm prime works there shouldn't be anything wrong with the adapter.
Maybe the lens needs some sort of contact to the camera to power the focus and the ring is just works with fly by wire?

Word...

Ill be more specific

Lens one
Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5/5.6 Image Stabiliser USM

this lens behaves in a strange way, it can be focused at around 35mm anything below that isn't possible.

the other is

tonika 11-16mm f2.8 canon fit.

this is completely out of focus at all focal lengths,

Both lenses work on my canon camera.

my research to-date makes me think that its either something to do with the flange, that the lenses should be at (on a canon its 44mm). The sensor distance is different from what my adapter is giving (m43 is 20mm plus the "thickness" of the adapter) which i estimate to be about 43, not really enough to effect the focus of the lens, i think there designed with a tolerance big enough for this not to be a problem.

anyways after i decided flange may not be the problem, i decided (guessed) that m43 cameras don't like rotary zoom lens. Im not sure if this is true, i dont have enough to check, i cant even tell you what the difference is between rotary zooms and normal zoom.

i can only say the
Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5/5.6 Image Stabiliser USM

is rotary.

cheers dude
