I'm getting a 5D, and along with it a lens adapter for my nikon glass...now i have a couple prime nikons with external f-stop dials, but my zoom lenses are electronically operated F-stop wise...How am I too operate them on my 5D or is it impossible?

also, do any adapters maintain the ability to autofocus?.. im guessing no

thanks

As far as I know, you cannot operate electronics on other lenses. If you are getting a Canon, I'd recommend Canon Glass. If you were to go for the kit 7D (or 5d kit), it comes with a pretty nice lens. The 28-135 on the 7D, which is what I have and it is great, or the 24-105mm L lens for the 5D which is awesome.

for manual focus get the adapter and use the nikon primes. better throw for manual focusing. The nikon primes look great as well.

the bower adapter is pretty good you can get them on ebay or from b&h, or get a cheaper copy from virtual village on ebay.
