Hello, I apologize for the long winded post in advance but this is a rare deal so its worth your time!!

I am selling my Lenovo Y580 Laptop that I purchased 11 months ago for my travel abroad year. I planned to shoot a lot while I was abroad needed a laptop that could "replace" my desktop computer while I was away and after tons of research and trips to Fry's Electronics I finally settled on this model with these options. There are a million versions of the Y580 available out there and it was incredibly hard finding the exact model, the one I picked up was from Fry's electronics in San Diego and they only had 1 of the specific version I picked up
Here is the generic lenovo y580 page if you just want to check out the laptop in general to see what it looks like
http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/y-series/y580/index.html
here is the windows 8 version (I opted for Windows 7 64bit because I HATE the new windows 8 OS
http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Y580-1...F8&qid=1375404552&sr=8-2&keywords=lenovo+y580

The version I am selling has the following specs
Windows 7 64 Bit
Intel i7-3610QM Quad-core processor with 2x4Gb ram (8GB of Ram total)
Nvidia GTX GeForce 660M card (The X in GTX is very important! Don't be tricked by other laptops with GT series cards that are lower on the totem pole!)
1 Terabyte hard drive
Blu-ray reader/burner
15.6 inch full HD 1080P Screen (Zero dead pixels)
JBL Speaker system (LOUD and beautiful sound, the loudest I have heard from a laptop, my girlfriend and I would plug the laptop into the TV via hdmi to watch shows and use the laptop speakers instead of the speakers she had!)
2 USB 3.0 ports
1 HDMI port
SDXC card slot (super useful and I think functions on USB 3.0 because it is lightening fast)
Backlit keyboard
Additional mSata port in case you want to add a SSD (for a boot drive) in the future

There are a lot and I mean a lot of different versions of the laptop out there ranging from $899 to almost $1500 so do your homework before opting for a different one. It flawlessly runs huge renders and video files in Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects as well as high end video games.
After purchasing I did a fresh install of Windows 7 64-bit to get rid of the ridiculous bloatware from Lenovo that hardly worked and ruined the experience. Also purchased and installed Microsoft Office for you to use as well as installed a hassle free Symantec anti-virus that is worlds away from typical consumer anti-virus.

There are scuffs on the corners of the lid from the zipper on my backpack and a tiny 1 centimeter BARELY indented mark on the back of the lid I think from one of my textbooks (doesnt effect anything especially if you have a case on it) but other than that the laptop is beautiful, works flawlessly, ZERO dead pixels and has never had any viruses or any other issues at all.
Lenovo laptops while sporting high specs and beautiful construction quality notoriously suffer from long boot times, I spent countless hours optimizing the boot time after the fresh install of windows 7, disabling services one at a time to see which unnecessary ones I could turn off. As it sits now it will full boot around a minute and thirty seconds which isn't bad at all! I usually just put it to sleep or hibernate because I have zero patience but if you prefer to fully shutdown I have done the leg work for you!

I have taken the small scratches on the corners of the lid into account for my $800 FIRM asking price. I have included pictures of the scuff marks though forgive the quality they were from my iPhone. The laptop ran me a little over $1300 after tax last September and I have added the Microsoft Office suite since then as well. Will also include a CaseLogic pouch for it and of course the original box, charger and manual.

The only reason I am selling is because I am planning to backback through Europe the rest of next year and will just need a netbook to transfer video files with. I hope that I have made everything super clear, I love this laptop and hate to let it go but I just can't afford this and a netbook at the same time so I am hoping it goes to a happy fully satisfied buyer!!!

Here are some pics, two stock pics in case you dont wanna click on the lenovo page and two pics showing the scuff marks on the lid

willing to ship to lower 48 states
