Hey everybody... Im buying the Panasonic Af100 and I want to use the Leica R lens with it. The lens that I want are:

Leica R Lens 19mm f2.8,
Leica R Lens 24mm f2.8 and the
Leica R Lens 35mm f2.8.

I may also buy the Leica R Lens 50mm f2.0.

The optics should be really good and there should be no problem in operating it, like the iris ring and the focus ring should work the way it should. Thanking in advance.

I think I need to clearly state what I want. I am buying a Panasonic Af100. So, keeping the crop factor in mind I want the following Leica R Lens:

Wide - One of the following:
- Leica R lens 16mm f2.8
- Leica R lens 18mm f2.8
- Leica R lens 19mm f2.8

Normal -
- Leica R lens 24mm f2.8

Telephoto - I might buy this one... not sure on this:
- Leica R lens 35mm f2.0

if i may, a couple of things:
the leica 16mm is a fisheye, not a regular lens, that will not work the way i think you want, plus it is not wide enough.
there is no leica 18mm R that I ever heard of, but there is a 18mm M, a new lens, but it's 3.8.

all these lenses you are looking at are 2.8. to get a nice short depth of field you might want to have the option of a 2.0 if possible.

you will not find fast wide angle lenses out there from most manufacturers, wide enough to be a wide angle lens on the af100. i would suggest you go for a 14-35 olympus zoom, that still ain't that wide but it is wide enough for most situations, it is a fast usable 2.0, and it is a very high grade lens. then for the telephoto get a leica 50 1.4 or 2.0. that should cover you.

i had a full set of lovely leica lenses i used on my 5d, but sold them because they just did not do as well on the af100.

but if you insist on leica glass, i recommend the 15mm, the 24mm, the 35mm and the 50mm. the 15mm will be very expensive even used.

Thank you lennywood for your concern and explaination but I want to go prime route. I'm frankly not a big fan of the zooms. And yes the leicas are expensive glass, but they are worth every penny. Sad that I don't have that much money to buy them. I am now going to buy the nikon ai lens. really good lens.

I am more of a fan of the manual focus lens as compared to the digital autofocus ones. Thank you again.

I'm looking for a fisheye for my 5dmkii. with it being a full frame sensor would your 16mm be ideal. I really need to up my dslr game. I should know this stuff

yeah, primes are nice, but there are no primes out there fast enough and wide enough. i still suggest the 14-35 as the go to lens for this camera, because of the 2.0. there is no other wide lens that is that fast. and if you want the filmic look on the wide end, you will need fast. plus you might not be familiar with olympus glass because they are not as well know as other brands, but their high end glass is arguably better than canon or nikon's, and as good as the best german brands.

plus going from leica to nikon is a big difference. at least go to zeiss, in my tests they were the closest i found to the leicas.
