The Legendary Leica APO R 100mm Elmarit Macro 2.8 is up for sale.

I've been shooting Macro stills and film/video for 20 years and have used over a dozen macro lenses. Thought I'd seen the best until I used these recently. I was so blown away, I picked up a couple more for a specific project. Though I'm keeping one, two extras are up for sale at excellent prices.

The 100mms for sale on Ebay in this condition are $2200-$2800 without the Canon Leitax mount conversion. I went through multiple copies until finding great ones. The 100mm is in Exclellent+ condition with the newer Leitax Canon mount (with improved flare control) semi-permaneantly installed and the Leica 3-cam mount is included (with original screws). See the picts below... Only minor very wear to the finish and the glass is in great condition, clean with minimal dust.

What amazed me about this lens is how well it performs throughout its aperture range and the stunning colors they produce - hard to quantify, but you know it when you see it. I've owned some of the best Canon, Voigtlander and Zeiss macro glass for Canon and nothing comes close imo.

Good copies of this lens usually cost more than $2k without the Canon Mount. This one is Superb. I'm keeping a copy in similar condition and its my favorite lens. An amazing macro & a stunning all-around prime.

Here are answers to a couple questions I received via email and on another forum:

1. Can the lens be easily converted back to the Leica R mount?
YES (rather easily, in about 10 minutes with the included extra screws)

2. Older lenses can collect lots of dust in the elements over time. How much dust is in the optics?
Very Little. Definitely not enough to affect IQ.

3. How will you ship it?
USPS Priority with shipping insurance at no extra charge.

4. I haven't read much about this lens before, but have heard good things. Do you know if there are any reviews online?
YES, there is an exhaustive one at SLRlensreview.com

Oh, yes, price... Unfortunately, the lens is not cheap - at almost US$4,000 this is one very expensive lens, so naturally this is not going to be a mainstream macro/telephoto."
