GH5 Leica Nocitron 42.5: $1100 international VS $1600 US

Two things to consider here:

(1) If it's an international/imported/gray market version from a reputable dealer, there is no difference in the lens itself. Usually the price difference is only a hundred or so, but I have seen them randomly be more (maybe to clear stock).

(2) If it's an international/imported/gray market version from a non-reputable dealer, you should be cautious. Some of those online shops list equipment for much less for whatever reason (scam, to get your information, etc).

If you'd like to share a link, we can possibly tell you more.

It's fulfilled by '6ave' which is pretty popular on eBay. I've bought from them before.

What they do a lot of times is take lenses apart from kits and sell them separately.

I am not aware of any GH5 bundles or other cameras being sold with the 42.5mm, but could very well be possible overseas. B&H is selling the GH5 with the the premium 8-18mm ($1100 lens) over here so it's not too far fetched.

It looks legit to me, but I'm not telling you to buy it, haha.

P.S. Probably don't expect a legit Panasonic warranty of any kind.

Personally, I have never used a warranty on/for anything or had anything break on me yet, so I don't really think about them, but they can of course be super important.

If your new $1200 lens turns out to be a lemon and the aperture ring breaks or something in a few weeks (and it's not your fault), you probably will want a warranty, ha.

The Panasonic warranty is not there but the seller still offers one (not sure what that entails)...here's the same lens from the same people:

So the warranty is offered in US only, probably because of some law (who knows), but it's only a 1 year parts/labor warranty, which seems pretty lame for at least $200 more than the international versions. Seems like a no brainer to go international if you can't get the $200 instant rebate Tom mentioned.

Buy on Amazon with the Prime Store Card and you get an additional 5% back, so I can effectively snag this one for around ~$1150...
