Hi,
I accidentally left F3 with power on in the Kata bag.
I noticed (the switch was in ON) when we tried to film in next morning.
The small battery was near full (so I left it in the camera)

It was on at least 1 hr 30 mins in the bag in the room with about 80F. the temperature in the bag must be very hot and no air circulation.
So far there is no problem but I worry since it might causes problems in future (money, delay)

I am not sure if the camera has the heat sensor and system to turn off the camera when it is overheat to prevent the damage.
Any idea about this?

thanks

I've done the same thing half a dozen times over the years. While certainly not recommended, I've never had any problems. I wouldn't worry about it.

It's best to remove the battery before you put the camera away, however.

Its good in the morning to fry eggs on though.

I've done this a few times and never had a problem. Scares the hell out of you though doesn't it?

Thanks guys!

I was paranoid at that time.
There are many holes that look like some kind of heat sink on the camera.

The F3 draws very little wattage and your camera bag is not a perfect insulator. The heat dissipates. There are cameras that are such battery hogs that you might have an issue, but no worries here.

As I recall its rated to run normally to 104 F and will do better than that (as anyone who has shot in the desert at 110F in the daytime can tell you.) Alister had his camera in the arctic circle (Norway) with no issues. One of the joys of having so few moving parts.
