I forgot i left the camera on. I came back a couple hours later and realized my mistake. The camera was hot, but it seems to be alright. Although i got the auto lock error message once. should i be looking for problems?

thanks

The camera can be on for a few hours (and more) with no problem. If it couldn't, it wouldn't be much use.

If you're getting an error, it's not because it was left on.

Yeah, what David said!

A problem might occur though, if you leave the cam on, and packed away in a tight bag or some such. Since there then is no way for the heat to dissipate , the cam will get VERY hot. Even then though, it shouldn't damage irreversably; but best not do this too often! :)

I have a friend who, <ahem>, a friend, yes, who left the DVX on in a bag....on....for several hours; the cam wouldn't focus for a few minutes, but once cooled down, everything was fine again.
Of course, we wouldn't have this problem, if the DVXuser battery wouldn't LAST so darn long! :)
Anyway, this is what my friend told me! :) :)

I guess this is another reason to take your battery off when you're not shooting.

Ha, indeed!
Although sometimes you'd want that sucker to be ready in a flash, and the start-up time for putting the battery on, and turning the switch and waiting for the cam to be ready -although only about 5 seconds- might mean a missed opportunity.

Definitely a good point.:)
