Left camera on in Pelican Case--heat damage?

I left my DVX on (without tape) in a closed Pelican case after a shoot. I discovered the situation about an hour or so later. The tripod plate was still screwed on and seemd quite warm. I suspect it acted like a heat sink, wicking the heat away from the camera. The camera body was also a little warm. The camera seems to work fine. What are the likey negative effects from this one-time error?

I ran my camera for a solid 6hrs under a bright sunny 105' day wrapped in a plastic bag to keep dust out that basically acted like an oven and my camera never flinched. I think leaving it on in the case will be fine.

yeh dude, that camera can take alot more abuse that you'd think. i've had intense heat, intense cold and extreme humidity and never had a problem...

It's the DV tapes that cannot tale too extreme of temp. The heat is just the batts being drained to me. Even left it on in my hard case for hours till batt was completely drained, the cam kept on working with new batt.

That's the diff between pro stuff and consumer stuff.

i did the same thing a few days ago. in a hurry and left it on when i stuck it back in the pelican.

i freaked out cause when i caught it, i couldnt get the tape to eject. but i let it sit outside the case for a little bit, and it worked fine. used it last night and everything functioned properly...so i was pleased, tragedy avoided :)
