Here's a short film on Miami artist LEBO I did several years ago using a friend's DVX, which led to me getting a DVX.

He paints huge murals on the sides of buildings in a "Post-Modern Cartoon Expressionism" style.
This one is at a downtown Miami bus stop, and attempts to capture the diversity that is Miami.
He was a lot of fun, the film is too.

Hope you enjoy,
Chuck

Awesome! It came out really well. I love the colors. The flick really looks great.

Feels odd watching this though. I spent all of January-April driving to Downtown for an internship over at the New World school with the Miami International Film Festival.

Thanks!
I'm a huge fan of the miami film festival, met Werner Herzog there, oh... 20 years ago, traded shirts with him! (he wanted mine!)

I didn't make the fest this year though :^(
How was the internship?

The mural (which unbelievably was just painted over!) was about 5 blocks west of the New World.
At least I recorded it for posterity!

This is another masterpiece from Chuck the Maesto! The paintings were great but the content and the way you portrayed his story was super.
Full marks for creativity, compostitons and editing.

luved it. composition was really nice. content NICE! i luved that shot...ahm...hold on lemmi see where it is.. at 1.33, very nice when he comes into frame and u rack to him. low angdle with the bus moving off, some nice shots in there.

Content as really good and how u strung it 2gther. full marks :D

Thanks guys! Much appreciated!

Thanks Shaun for the "full marks"!
Can't wait for your next wedding trailer!

Thanks Darren(?), what's a little diesel bus exhaust when you're going for a shot, right?

The true "maestro moment" is my "Hitchcock cameo".
I make an appearance in the multi layer/superimpose sequence somewhere between 2:03-2:09.
Where am I? Not sitting on the bench...lol!

thanks for watching,
Chuck

yup its Darren

I meant to ask how u did that timelapse thingy ...as u describe it " multi layer/superimpose sequence"

Hey Darren,

It's a lockdown shot on a tripod.
I rolled for about 10 minutes.
I took five minutes of video, sped it up to fit the 5 second hole, put it on my video 1 track.
Then I took another section of that 10 minute shot, slowed it down, put it on V2, added "superimpose" effect from Avid.
Took a 3rd shot slowed it down, put it on V3, added superimpose.
Adjust the 2 superimpose effects so the transparency of all 3 shots is close to equal.

If I did it again, and I will at some point ;^) I wouldn't have done the fast motion so fast.
It's so fast, combined with it becoming transparent with 2 video tracks on top of it, that you can't see the cars and traffic clearly.

So my timeline would look something like this:

V3- Slow mo shot #2, with superimpose added
V2- Slow mo shot, with superimpose added
V1- 10,000% motion (I'm just guessing) 5 minutes of video in 5 second hole

Hope this makes sense!
