Leaked image of Sony 18-110mm f/4 G E-mount lens to be announced Sep. 9th 2016

Sony will prob charge a lot, cause they want to make up for the the full frame lens. I doubt it sold the way they wanted it to. It was a video lens for still cameras, it was not wide enough for super 35. They know how in demand this would be.This is the lens that they know many current and future FS owners want. This thing will sell a lot more units than the full frame version. Its looking at minimum 2k for it if you ask me.

Well that is quite the cliff hanger.

I'm guessing $3200.

Let's start a price-guessing pool. If you go over by $1 you are eliminated. Like on "The Price is Right".
If this lens is over $2,000 Sony has lost their mind.

80-200s are over £2k - that is a very normal price for an important tool in a professional setup even at the wedding/lo-corporate level

Cool range. I sold my 28-135 not long after I bought my FS7 kit. Found myself never using it.

Hope they figured out a way to speed up the servo zoom in this model. Previous power zoom was near glacial. I find myself using my SB+24-70 or Mk4+18-35 for most run around purposes but if this comes in at the right price, I'd consider it.

even the 28-135 is 2,400 dollars... your expectations are quite unrealistic IMHO.
I figure a similar full frame lens would be more expensive. But with Sony who knows. The pricing for some of their recent lenses has tended to be pretty ridiculous. And this is gonna be geared towards people using higher end cameras. I won't be shocked if they want more than $2,000 for it, but I think $3,000+ is ridiculous.

looks like you'll be pretty disappointed this Friday...

Compared to the other G lenses I think around 1000 dollar. But I am afraid that is will be marketed as cine lens so what will triple the price.
But I already have the 18-105 so if it is too expensive I invest in barrel-distortion correction software.

Cool. Can you tell us if there will ever be another A mount camera or what's on the horizon for E mount?

I wish I could, but I can't tell you anything about anything. I am keeping my mouth shut before I get in some big trouble.

I'm guessing this will be a premium G lens and with its improved focus control (assuming from repeatable focus markings) I'd put this lens around $3K-$3.5K to compete with Canons 18-80 electronic cinema lens.

It's only a lens, chill. Whatever it costs , it won't cure cancer or print money.

You have insider knowledge. We get it. I think you made that clear in your first 6 posts trying to impress others and teasing others regarding the price.

Nothing personal, it's just that the "just WAIT until you learn what I already knew before any of you!!" posts are lame.

As they say, sh!t or get off the pot.

G is not the GM though, it's a notch below.

$3,500 sounds reasonable though.
