DVXFest Leaders II:

Around years end we'll be adding to the DVXFest leader pool.
Since we'll be updating the pool from time to time this fest will run concurrent to the regular CGIFests.

You have until December 14 to complete your entries.

We'll announce an upload date and link prior to uploading.
After voting all of the entries will be added to the official DVXFest leader pool.

Same rules and conditions as before.

Subject: DVXFest Leaders

Animated logo leaders which will appear opening dvxuser.com DVXFest entries.

The content of the leader will be a "dvxuser" logo of the user's design and the following text: "Official DVXFest Participant". There are no font or color restrictions for the logo or the additional text.

All CGIFest entries will be added to the current pool for selection by DVXFest entrants to use as leaders. For the 3 winners... to be determined... Bragging rights at least...


Here's an .obj file of the dvxuser logo if you can use it...dvxlogo.obj



Rules. Please read carefully.

* Credits are allowed however the entries will later be required to submit the leader as an uncompressed image sequence without credits and produced at 24p or 25p for use in the DVXUser fests. Further details will be announced.

* You may enter up to three entries as the primary submitter. There is no limitation to how many entries you may work on.

* The leader must be a maximum of 10 seconds long, including black space.

* Entries for viewing and rating must be provided as an h.264 compressed file (either .mov or .mp4), in a DV or lower resolution with a 16x9 aspect ratio (720x404, 640x360, etc.), and a maximum file size of 10 MB.
(The uncompressed versions are not required until after the viewing and rating has concluded.)

* The entry deadline will be announced in November or December 2009. All entries must not have been publicly screened prior to the end of voting. Uploading details will be provided. Rating is limited to members with a minimum of 50 posts on the site and primary entrants regardless of post count.

* You may include stock footage and music and prebuilt 2D/3D assests like models and stages however no copyright violations. Licensed or royalty-free music, images, and assets only.

* Outside promotion is allowed but is visually limited to still grabs and Behind the Scenes footage. No footage of the actual entry may be posted elsewhere until fest voting is over.

* Content must be “PG” rated or lower.

* All entrants agree to grant DVXuser.com and its agents non-exclusive rights for their films to appear on a DVD or for DVXuser-sanctioned public screenings.

I pushed back the CGIFest Bumpers for next year to focus on the above DVXFest leaders.
We'll be running the bumpers at a later date to be announced. Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to post here or PM myself or Towerfan.

Remember that these two fests run concurrent to the regular CGIFests. You may work on these entries anytime from now until then.

Entering all of the regular CGIFests and the leader fests could be daunting but
generally the leaders and bumpers can be worked on in one's spare time, if you`re lucky to have any.
A good time is in the 2-week period between a given CGIFest upload end and the beginning of the next CGIFest.
And if your not busy with a current CGIFest then this will allow you to still get in on the action.

The DVXFest Leaders viewing and voting will happen first followed by the CGIFest Bumpers viewing and voting.
Those top entries will also go into the selection for the "Best of Year" fest that will follow.

Good luck and don't be afraid to start a thread and post your progress in whatever your working on. Have a good one.

So when do you guys want to wrap this? I was thinking somewhere between Nov and Jan.

If Jan of next year is okay I'll shoot for around the 4th.

Great F1/Jason. Your last leader has really been making the rounds. Pretty much a first place entry as to regards of popularity with the dvxfest filmmakers. Grats man.

Just a couple notes as I'm watching the dvxfests entries.
Maybe if someone is short of ideas, I'm thinking people could maybe use a grunge leader, a retro B&W leader for the 50's 60's clips, maybe a Grindhouse as well.

I haven't started mine and don't have a concept yet but I'm leaning towards one of the above so I thought I'd toss that out there.

Yeah Im suprised mine was used so much, guess it fit the theme well. Im going to make a couple this time around. I want to make one with c4d, that ive been trying to learn.
 
You guys get this rocking. I'm sure everyone would love to have as many leaders as possible to choose from. I may be able to do a small cash prize for the winner here. All submitted leaders will be eligible for use by filmmakers in dvxfest though.
