F65: LDS pins cut and shimmed

Any idea why for some Sony F65's selling used on the market the LDS pins are cut and removed?

Is this on purpose or because a pin or two broke so hence all subsequently removed.

... What does this all mean? Nothing, none of us use the lens data port. In fact it's kind of annoying because it can bump into the rods/lens. Some cameras have cut their port out. My first F35 came with original black PL mount, it was a little easier to convert to Nikon because the lens port wasn't in the way.

So far I've only heard its at client request. Must be they are more bad than good in use.
