LCD Wide Screen Magnifier

Looks as though it stretches the image. For instance, if you were shooting in squeeze mode (or with an anamorphic lens), you would see an undistorted image on the LCD through this thing.

Personally, I don't find it that distracting to look at a squeezed image while shooting.

can anyone confirm this????
as for me I CANNOT STAND THE SQUEEZED IMAGE. CANNOT. STAND.

it seems like this little gizmo would save me buyin an external 16x9 lcd..

anybody??????????????

well the dvx100b displays the squeezed image normally so it looks 16:9 :)

but yea, that magnifier will stretch it out to what it's supposed to be on the dvx100a

It is used to optically correct the 16:9 image that has been squeezed on the 4:3 screen. The LCD Widescreen Magnifier also magnifies the image and protects from stray sunlight

Says this right in the description........I would assume that is what you want, correct?

Unfortunately, even the 100b does NOT display squeezed footage properly in the lcd/viewfinder when you choose 16:9 display mode. It actually overscans. So what you see on your lcd is vertically (top/bottom) less than what the camera is actually recording.
For some people that is a big issue, for others (including me) is not...

can anyone tell me how exactly this lcd magnifier stretches a 4x3 image into a 16x9 one??

Doesnt seem possible quite frankly, i still am not sure about this product....

anyone.......?
