LCD viewfinder fro AF-100

how about some kind of hardward attachment viewfinder? I work at a tv station and they have these add on viewfinders for the field cameras but it's some custom job that wouldn't just work off the shelf, anybody out there actualy make that kind of thing that would just attach maybe on the handle grip and plug into an HDMI port or something?

There are numerous external EVFs. Most plug into HDMI, others SDI, some both.

Zacuto's ZFinder, & SmallHD's DP4, appear to be the most popular, & the new-ish Alphatron has the best picture (& worst firmware).

Z finder looks like it's for the 5d style lcd, if that would work for the AF-100, why wouldn't the link I had at the top? From what I found seems like a similar thing. The other two options are nice, but way out of my price range. I'm hoping for $200ish or less. not $900 or $1,400. Do I have no options then?

The AF's LCD isn't strong enough to support a loupe.

Is that something you've tried, Bern?

FWIW, I used to run an LCDVF on a Canon 60D articulating screen. I got around the issue of it drooping or even potentially snapping off by using large velcro cable ties - one permanently around the loupe itself and the other attached to the camera strap loop on the body - the loupe could then be clipped on it's magnetic frame and the velcro tie attached quickly and firmly. I can't see any reason why you couldn't do something similar with the AF101. The 60D and AF100 screen resolutions are similar - and I found the 60D LCD more than good enough for focus and exposure.

Would be keen to hear how you get on, if you try it. Just one word of caution - get a loupe with good quality optics. I can recommend the LCDVF:
