LCD View Monitor

I was reading the HMC book and Barry really urges you buy an external monitor to hook to your Cam. Which after reading makes perfect sense. On my old camera I hooked it up to me laptop via Firewire and Adobe OnLocation so I could get a bigger screen to look at.

My HMC40 doesn't have Firewire which is fine because it was a pain to drag the laptop with me on shoots. Plus the HMC40 has the tools and monitors that my old cam didn't have...also reason for the Onlocation.

So anyway does any one have any good links for a external monitor that will display an accurate picture for a good accurate preview? I'm guessing all I should care about is if it has HDMI in, right? But I'm not sure what a good size would be, 10" ,15", 65" :)
Thanks,
Rich

How much do you want to spend?

Marshall makes a nice line of Pro monitors with battery adapters for $300 - $400.

Panasonin make a super sweet monitor LH80WU with built in waveform for $2500.

We are using 2 SmallHD's, which, I believe, are the only small video monitors to offer true HD resolution. It's not 1080, but it is true 720, which, from what I have been told, is the best out there for a small monitor. We have 2 DP1x's...which have apparently been discontinued....so I guess eBay if you really want one?

Couple of buddies brag about their SmallHDs all the time.
