LCD screen size?

There's only 2 items left for me to order for this badboy. 1 is a Pelican case, but I'm waiting for the camera to arrive before I decide on which one. 2 is a Hoodman. I've browsed through the thread listings, but being that there's no way to search for 3 character words I can't find the spec on the size of the LCD screen. Does anyone know the answer so I can order the Hoodman now? Thanks!

Jan said something about Panasonic comming out with a hood. I'm going to wait and see what they come up with.

First I heard of that. Jan, can you confirm Panasonic is still coming out with a hood please? And if so, any idea on when? Thanks!

Per the Panasonic web site "16:9 color LCD panel (8.76cm (3.45 inches) / 921,000 dot (1920 x 480)", which is about the same as the EX1 LCD "3.5", 16:9 Aspect Ratio, 921,000 Effective Pixels". 5/100ths of an inch is close enough.

I know with the Hoodman loupe there is a kit for the EX1. The EX1 kit has a bigger flange and makes the eye piece about 3/4" farther away from the screen than their other model.

Which Panasonic website? I looked here and there isn't much there.

Added: Also I wasn't originally thinking of a HoodLoupe (was thinking of just a sunshade for the LCD when outdoors), but now that you mention it I wonder if that would work as an EVF solution when shoulder-mounted.

Here about 3/4 of the way down below the charts: http://pro-av.panasonic.net/en/sales_o/news_info/news100913/100913.html

That's exactly why I bought the hoodloupe is to use it as a EVF when hand held. It works great if you are right eye dominant, and most people are. Great too because the lens is adjustable to suit your eye. And it keeps out the sun even better than a box shade.

Here is a photo of an EX1 using HoodLoop as a VF, there is also a small shoulder brace in the back, or a larger one for adding counterweight available from westsideavstore.com.

Thanks! Already have a HoodLoupe for my GH1, so I'll give that a shot with the AF100 when the camera arrives.
