LCD Screen: 100B vs. 100A

I have a brand new 100B, and I noticed that the text on the LCD screen is noticeably poor compared to the LCD text on both my 100A and my old DVC80. I searched the forum, and found that the softness has been reported as an issue, but can somebody confirm the following differences in the screen text before I send it into Panasonic for repair:

1) All text on the 100B's LCD appears soft, slightly blurred
2) The flashing red tape icon on the upper left appears "jumbled" compared to that of the 100A and DVC80
3) There are little gray boxes around the 'CH1' and 'CH2' audio channel icons

Those are the three main things that I've noticed so far. Are these differences inherent in the camera, or did I get a lemon?

Thanks, in advance, for any help you can provide.

The LCD on the 100B took a step down from the LCD on the 100A, as I recall it. You do get full underscan viewing, which is nice, but the LCD on the 100A I remember as being crisper and brighter.

So yeah, it's normal.

Yes. The DVX100B screen is noticeably softer looking than the 100A's. Make sure the detail button on the back of the camera is on. The footage is always crisp looking though...just have to get used to it. When I go back to the DVX100A it looks too sharp to me now!

I thought the 100B has more pixels than the 100A. yep, just checked: 100A, EVF resolution: 180,000 dots. 100B: 230,000 dots. LCD 100A: 200,000 dots, 100B: 210,000 dots. and the 100B can show 16x9, which I use all the time.
