LCD Problem

OK, so I am more posting this for a friend. He recently got a used DVX with zero hours. It had a messed up LCD so he got a good deal on it.

It shows the image in the LCD only everything looks almost solorized or something. I guess that would be the best way to describe it.

Just figured I would post up and see if anyone had any clue what could be wrong?

He knew of the problem before buying it so it's not like it was a surprise. I'm certain it's probably something you'd have to send in to get fixed and spend like $800. Just figured I would still ask what the problem could be just in case it turned out to be a simple fix.

I can probably get some pics to post if that would help this weekend.

I'm sure it's the mecanical problem so those have to be fix by mecanics.

if it was an easy fix, I don't think the seller would have sold it in the first place. so I don't think it's an esay fix...

well if he doesn't want to spend that money, then can't he just use the eyepiec-view finder? or maybe use a monitor...

Yeah, he uses the viewfinder. I just figured I'd post up just to see if anyone had any clue as to what could be the cause.. Just seems like an odd thing that it's all solarized and weird looking.

Figured i'd just poste up for him and see if anyone had any answers or the same problem

I get you!

I'm no expert but I would guess it's because the liquid inside isn't reacting propertly which might of been coused by direct sunlight or something.
you might want to ask the last owner how he was using the camera too.
