LCD Not True Color?

Hey all, with one of my DVXs, which has about 800 hours on it, I'm having a little issue with the LCD screen....It seems to be grainy on darker spots, yet when I shot back in January for some scenes, it wasn't grainy on the monitor. Even if I am not shooting, the grain is on the screen if there's low light. I'm thinking it may be the camera.

I've been editing via Media100 and been watching it on a tv from 1998. I've going to buy a monitor to see the true color and what exactly it is... I am having an issue with the DVX100 LCD because I feel it's compromising what the footage actually looks like.

I look into the eyepiece and I do not see the grain, but that's probably because it's much smaller, no? Or is that the true image and the LCD is grainy and makes it look grainy on the TV? I'm confused about this problem.

You won't ever see the true image in the eyepiece or the camera's LCD - the "grain" you are seeing could be any number of things, most likely it's the EVF DTL "peaking" being added or you've set the contrast higher on the screen.

The only way you know exactly how your footage is looking is to use a calibrated monitor (and re-calibrate it whenever the lighting around the monitor changes)
