I've done a search but I don't know if I've found the latest info.

With the gh13 hack can I monitor & playback on the GH1 lcd? I ask because I thought I had read that playback was unavailable.

not true. the avchd is fine for playback. for mjpeg if the bitrate gets too high no playback. if your audio bitrate was adjusted no playback. it's in the FAQ threads.
 
As I read more thru the FAQ's I have a question:

For those people pushing the 50+Mbit rates.... do you not playback your results? Do you remove your card, take it to a laptop then replay in your laptop?
Isn't playback pretty much crucial for anything commercial (as opposed to presonal projects)?

I have a video shoot 2 weeks from now & would love to use the hack, but I need to playback on my camera.

It seems to me that a critical component is being glossed over in the 'settings' discussion... I'd love to see an indication of "Playback Works" and "LCD Monitoring Works".

I am biting my nails waiting for live video output during recording for monitoring.

What threads should I be following so that I know immediately any new developments to this?

Live video-out while recording is by far my top desire for the gh1.

When that happens it will be in every thread and on the six o'clock news on CNN.
